The meeting in France on climate change, #COP21, was not as popular on social media as Cyber Monday. It is understandable when you consider many Americans are not convinced it is a valid threat. They view it as politics masquerading as science.
I am not a scientist. But as many other Michiganders and other Northerners, I sometimes wonder while standing in snowdrifts over my knees as I shovel the driveway, how could warming be a bad thing? I know the threat is now change not warming. In fact, some say an ice age is coming. I am old enough to remember the same prediction in the 1970s and the promises of margarine over butter. I’ve outlived both.
I guess you could put me in the group with the skeptics. Time will tell.
Genesis 8:22 says, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Luke 21:11 predicts for the last days, "And great earthquakes shall be in different places, and famines and plagues. And there shall be terrors and great signs from Heaven." (MKJV)
Here, the last leaves cling tenaciously to bare branches. Snow is in the forecast. My faith is in God’s word.
